A daily observation of natural elements in Rotterdam through my lens.
As a resident of Rotterdam it’s a daily activity for me to commute from place to place throughout town, but I never really notice the nature I encounter on my route. It’s not that I don’t see any form of nature, because I do. It has to do with the fact that when I pass by these natural beings I’m either focusing on being in time or my thoughts are elsewhere. I’m always in too much of a rush to give the natural world a second thought. By finally standing still I was able to observe.
Through my observations I have managed to capture the synchronicity and harmonious cooperation of nature. Even though these photographs where taken in different places around Rotterdam at altering times, you’re able to see similarities as well as interesting contrasts between them. The pictures I captured feel like a gift and helped me appreciate the natural world that crosses my path daily. Doing this helped me be more present in the now and increased my knowledge of nature as well. It is my believe that our relationship with nature determines how we take care of it. Therefore it’s very important to create a strong bond with mother nature and keep a positive connection with her. This all starts with the way we look at our world.
